Contact Lenses with low water content
Most contact lens users nowadays are looking for contact lenses with high water
content probably because it means that the eyes are gong to be more moisturized
and are less susceptible to drying which can hurt really bad. But what if you’re
one of the few that doesn’t really feel comfortable with too moist contact
lenses? What if your eye doctor recommends that you wear contact lenses with less
water content?
This is where Biomedics 38 contact lenses come in. These are originally manufactured
by Ocular Sciences, Inc. However, in 2005, CooperVision, one of the biggest contact
lenses manufacturers in the world acquired Ocular Sciences and all its products
and brand names. Under the CooperVision banner, Biomedics 38 (also known as Ultrafex
38 and Versaflex depending on the store brand) has only been strengthened and
is a top product for those requiring less water content in their contact lenses.
Another feature that makes it stand out is its visibility tint. A visibility tint
is a slight hue of either light blue or light green that just makes the lenses
easier to see within the solution it comes in. It makes it easier for you to see
it when putting it on. It also comes in handy when you accidentally drop them.
The transparent lenses are especially hard to see, considering that your eyes
are also visually impaired to a certain degree. The tint doesn’t affect
the way you look at the lenses in any way though.
Biomedics 38 contact lenses have a 2-week replacement schedule. You can wear them
daily up to a maximum of 2 weeks, only if you remove them at night. It’s
also important that you clean them properly and disinfect them in the prescribed
solution before you use them again the next day. If you intend to wear them continuously
even at night, then you can only do that for up to a week. Then you have to replace
them immediately. Not following doctor’s orders can lead to eye irritation,
red eyes and even bacterial or fungal infection.
